SyneReal

AI consulting for regulated professions

AI consulting from inside the professions it serves.

SyneReal helps attorneys, title agents, and Catholic dioceses put AI to work without losing control of the decisions they are professionally responsible for. The practice works only in fields its principal has worked in himself.

Who we serve

Small practices with large obligations.

The large AI vendors build for enterprises and stop where professional responsibility begins. A solo attorney, a title agency, or a chancery office carries the same duties as a large institution, with none of its staff. That is the client SyneReal is built for.

Solo and small-firm attorneys

Your staff is probably already using AI. The duties of competence, confidentiality, and supervision did not change when they started.

  • What client information is reaching which tools
  • Where AI-assisted intake and drafting need attorney review
  • A written policy your office will actually follow

Title insurance agents

A title file holds nonpublic personal information, escrow instructions, and wire details. It is also full of repetitive work AI does well.

  • Safe uses in search review, commitments, and clearance
  • Keeping customer data out of tools that retain it
  • Procedures that stand up to an underwriter's review

Catholic dioceses and parishes

A chancery answers to canon law, civil law, and the trust of the faithful. AI is arriving in parish offices with no policy behind it.

  • AI policy and governance for chancery and parish staff
  • Donor, sacramental, school, and Safe Environment records
  • Staff training grounded in the Church's own norms

Method

AI doesn't fail loudly. It fails fluently.

Its mistakes sound exactly like its facts.

An AI system states a wrong citation, a wrong figure, or a wrong name in the same confident voice it uses for everything else. The only protection is a working discipline: logs of what was asked, a register of what was corrected, and verification of anything that matters against a primary source. SyneReal runs that discipline every day in its own practice, and that is what it teaches.

Deep redesign beats shallow adoption.

Buying a subscription and bolting it onto old habits produces new risk and little benefit. The gain comes from redesigning how the work gets done, with a person accountable at every point where judgment is required. SyneReal is not tied to any AI vendor and recommends tools on the merits.

How it works

Three steps. You can stop after any of them.

1

AI Exposure Assessment No cost

A structured conversation about where AI is already touching your practice: the tools in use, the information they see, and the professional obligations in play. You leave with a plain account of what to address first. It is a review of practice operations, not a legal opinion.

2

Live working session

Fifteen minutes on a real problem from your own desk, with confidential details replaced by placeholders. You watch the work being framed, questioned, corrected, and verified, and you keep what is produced. It is a small-scale version of an engagement, so you know what you would be buying.

3

Engagement

More sessions like that one, plus the policy, procedures, and training around them, so your office is not starting from a blank page each time. The aim is to transfer the skill to you and your staff.

Principal

Ralph F. Powell

SyneReal takes clients only in fields where its principal has personally carried the responsibility. More than thirty-five years of that work stand behind the practice.

Title insurance
Founded and ran a title insurance agency operating in two states with a staff of fifteen. Later an underwriter for a national title insurer. Has held title agent licenses in six states and worked complex multi-state commercial and residential transactions.
Law practice operations
As executive director of a tax certiorari law practice, designed and built the practice-management systems credited with tripling its caseload. That work came years before AI. Redesigning how professional work gets done is the constant.
The Church
Permanent deacon of the Catholic Church. Master of Arts in Systematic Theology, Seton Hall University.
Education
Has taught morality and Scripture at a Catholic preparatory high school, served on its Faculty Committee on Artificial Intelligence, and used AI under a verification protocol in the live grading of student essays. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, New York University.
AI practice
Designed and maintains a formal quality-control system for AI work, with session logs, correction registers, and mandatory fact-checking. Diagnosed a real failure inside that system and built the fix. Works across multiple AI models and checks them against each other and against primary sources.
